1st Prize in the competition for the Renovación Integral de la Travesía de Pliego
The general director of Territory and Housing, Antonio Navarro, accompanied by the mayoress of Pliego, Isabel Toledo, presented the award to the architect Enrique Mínguez as the winner of the ideas competition for the drafting of the project for the integral renovation of the Pliego crossing.
The winning proposal, entitled “Eco Bulevar”, will involve a comprehensive transformation of this space conceived as a boulevard, with pedestrian areas, green zones, cycle lanes and a traffic lane for residents on the section of the RM-515 regional road (former C-3315) as it passes through the town centre of Pliego, The route takes the names of Avenida de Alhama and Avenida de Mula, two sections which join the main accesses to the town, crossing it from end to end and making it the main axis of the municipality. The area of action covers an area of 49,600 square metres.
