La Manga del Mar Menor, Region of Murcia, is a tongue of land 22 km long. To its west is the Mar Menor, a large saltwater lake. To the east is the Mediterranean Sea. This is a unique natural environment, protected both nationally and internationally.

The different sections of the Promenade follow the same fundamental design principles, thus guaranteeing its continuous character, but adapting to the richness of the place in each section.

In Section II, which runs from the Marchamalo Canal to the boundary between the municipalities of Cartagena and San Javier, it is essential to integrate the promenade with the landscape without detracting from the natural surroundings. We are not trying to create a characteristic image of La Manga, but only to enhance its Mediterranean character, solving the problems that arise in the contact of the urban fabric with the beach.

As in other projected sections, we channelled the longitudinal and transversal flows of the different circulations through the visual passages. These elements are the pillars of the project, through them we not only promote the visual connection between the two seas, but also, by treating them as green corridors (freeing them from vehicles and increasing the vegetation) we improve the connections and quality of the entire urban fabric.
