The area to be developed is located in the town of La Manga del Mar Menor, in the municipality of San Javier, on the Mediterranean Sea. The action of this Phase I includes the development of the Plazas al Mar in Zoco Levante and Castillos de Mar and their connection so as to facilitate accessibility to the beaches.
The project is part of the EDUSI strategy “LA MANGA ABIERTA 365”, which is why the quality of public space as an element of urban regeneration and compliance with the indicators of the Operational Programme for Sustainable Growth (especially the reduction of tons of CO2) are particularly relevant in justifying the financing of the operation. Therefore, the pedestrianisation, the coexistence road and the bicycle parking spaces planned in Plaza Castillos de Mar add up in this direction.
